Our most popular offering, Our Father's Farm's Apricot Kernels bring the best of both worlds, that of great taste as well as amazing nutritional benefits! The kernels are not pasteurized, enhanced, or processed in any way. They are grown all natural and organically without any GMO, pesticide or chemicals. The properties found in the kernels are 100% natural.

Why Apricot Kernels?

Apricot kernels have been shown to boost the body's immune system, helping to fight off infection and disease. This is due to the natural increase of pancreatic enzymes that help fight harmful cells travelling throughout the body. Apricot kernels also contain other enzymes that assist the liver in naturally detoxing the body of harmful substances. They also help relieve pain; this is due to the reduction in inflammation that occurs as a byproduct of its detoxing enzymes. The benefits do not stop there! Apricot kernels even have been shown in studies to bring down blood pressure! This comes from thiocyanate, a very potent blood pressure reducer. Why are these oddly delicious kernels so healthy? Many medical experts attribute apricot kernels' health benefits to its density of laetrile, which has been shown to be beneficial in avoiding cancer and reducing toxicity in the body. Regardless of which nutrient you look into, you can be assured that Our Father's Farm's Apricot Kernels will get you well on your way to a healthy wholesome life! Our kernels come in both Extremely Bitter and Bitter; remember, the more bitter the healthier!

What's the difference between Extremely Bitter and Bitter?

Our most commonly asked question is "What's the difference between these two varieties?" What many do not know is that the more bitter apricot kernels actually hold more vitamins and nutrients, and that is why we exclusively sell our Extreme Bitter apricot kernels! One notable difference is that the Extremely Bitter kernels come from a higher quality apricot tree. As well, they are approximately three times more potent than the regular
bitter, which contributes to taste differences as well. Generally the
trend we see is that people who have been diagnosed with an ailment
gravitate towards the Extremely Bitter because of their potency, although they are certainly of benefit to anyone and everyone. These certified organic kernels are extremely rich in healthy fats, and even provide ample fiber and iron!

How do you eat them?

There are many ways to consume the kernels, from simply eating them as you
would an almond, to grinding into powder and drinking in a smoothie, or
soaking in water. They can be eaten as healthy snacks, or mixed into previously bland cooking recipes to make a fabulous nutritious meal!

How many should I take?

Every person is unique and each body has different needs, thus there is no specific amount for daily intake. Start by asking your naturopath what is best for you. We find it easy to go by a weight ratio to help determine how many kernels to take per day, ie 1-2 kernels for every 10-20lbs of body weight, Please note that the FDA recommends no more than 3 per day, but those experiencing "positive benefits" have been known to take well over
that amount. For ourselves, we are comfortable taking approximately 5 per
hour, and no more than 30 per day. Each person is very different, so find
out what works for you!
